The Belluard Festival Belluard Bollwerk International 2008 is a temporary community which brings together festivalgoers, inhabitants of Fribourg, artists and professionals for an intensive two-week exchange. Bridging local and international culture, eastern and western Switzerland, the Belluard fortress - the heart of the festival - to the Ancienne Gare cultural center, and different art forms through a horizontal approach: such is the vision of this 25th edition of the Belluard Festival.
This means that you can see Fribourg from an other angle in the Mis-guided artists' interventions in the urban process - elevating, offering, demolishing, de-centring, hijakking and boxing. That your complaints will be heard in the first Complaints Choir of Fribourg. That Michel Schröder cuts Fribourg history in pieces in Schlachtplatten Fribourg. Or that east meets west on the Röstigraben in Dick Wong’s B.O.B.*@Fribourg.
It means also that a football final will never be the same again after having seen Harun Farocki’s Deep Play. It means that Philippe Quesne invites you for special effects in the living room of Serge, that IFTAF & Elixir let you into their electro-acoustic kitchen, that Tarek Halaby & Sue-Yeon Youn present their bizarre garden of eden and that Bonaparte will rock the Bellubar. Nature Theater of Oklahoma even prepares your sandwiches and the Wiener Gemüseorchester offers you a soup. And all this you can discuss with our official hair dresser Fred Samier at the Fri-CUT salon!
We look forward to welcoming you at the 25th edition of the Belluard Festival!
