Order a meal from our chefs and put your feet under our new tables, or cook yourself! In our new festival centre KITCHAIN all is possible.
To amplify and encourage the idea of social gathering and exchange at the Belluard Festival, António Louro and Benedetta Maxia, laureates of our Contest 2009, propose KITCHAiN, a kitchen system that invites people to turn the entire space into a huge Kitchen. The all-in-one design offers several possibilities: there is the ‘Ready-Made’ part: a classical kitchen where our professional chefs Arnaud Nicod, Jean Piguet and Maïté Colin will prepare meal. But there is also a ‘Do-it-yourself’, a new aspect of the festival kitchen: the possibility to cook yourself! To allow this, the KITCHAIN incorporates a mini-market with basic ingredients, and several cooking units furnished with an electric cooker, sink and shelf.

Wam Kat
Hot politics : cooking is autonomy, the kitchen a place for social gathering, a spoon a social tool. Wam Kat, UN passport holder, activist and journalist, will tell us about his experiences as a political and peace cook. After having coordinated food supplies during the Balkan war in the 90s, he nowadays serves 5000 biogical dishes in 30 minutes to groups of 5000 or more at big manifestations like Heiligendamm 2008.

Besides eating and cooking yourself, the KITCHAIN also has some more activities on offer!
Every evening artists will cook for a small group of audience. Watch a performance or visit an installation, and find out the favourite recepy of the artist the next day!
