Residents of a slum in Buenos Aires discover that they can make it by acting out their lives in front of a camera, using their homes as a movie set. Without any artistic inclinations, they find themselves in front of professional actors, directors and foreign producers. They portray thieves, piqueteros or drug addicts. They work as hard at decorating their sets as they do at trying to find food.
Amidst this agitation, a man emerges. Julio Arrieta is the front man for this gang of rogues. Father of 12, this director of an amateur theater troupe comes from the same neighborhood. This was his idea: to establish contact with the outside world by opening a casting agency, promoting their looks and their movie sets.
In their documentary, Federico Len and Marcos Maritnez expose the relationship between this impresario and a young director whose purpose is to make a film from the Martian sci-fi script that Julio Arrieta wrote.
