Originally, Maywa Denki was one of those companies which assisted larger businesses in the Japanese development boom of the sixties. Unfortunately, as the depression came about, they closed in 1979. In 1993, the founders two sons reopened its doors and turned it into an artistic venture. Ever since, the firm has been meticulously crafting musical instruments and objets dart. They even organise gruesome scenic performances, influenced by noodle or vacuum sale strategies.
Maywa Denkis performances are led by its president, accountant, and a few assistants, all wearing blue coveralls. They call these performances product demonstrations . Their music goes from Japanese rock to elecro-pop showcasing self-playing guitars, remote-controlled tap shoes, horns as saxophones, singing robots, etcetera, etcetera. A show from another dimension, rooted as much in military choreography as in Monty Pythons movies.
