In the beginning, the project was to be a remake of the Sergio Leone film The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly set in a village in Pakistan. After having spent a long time preparing the project, Shezad Dawood decided that a video would be obsolete : a pakistani version of Ennio Morricones music would be effective in evoking a visual of this remake.
From this idea, Dawood decided to work with a famous pakistani sitar player, whom he asked to interpret another of Sergio Leones films For a few dollars more .
The audience will listen to the recordings in a specially designed thetre space, thus producing an experience close to sufi ritual meditation.
Vinyls of For a few rupees more will be available for sale at the Belluard.
Shezad Dawood is one of 3 winners of the BBI 2005 creation contest.
For a few rupees more is a production of the BBI, carried out thanks to a contribution of the Canton Fribourg to the culture. With the support of Fondation Nestl pour lArt.
