-What do you like about Se�or Coconut's album besides the obvious amusement of remixing cha-cha and mambo versions of cult favorites such as the Doors, Michael Jackson or Deep Purple?
-I like to rethink orignal titles that I liked in the past, and see if they can be played differently, and played well. Same with the original titles that I still love today, they are true classics that still bring people together. Try this test: play Se�or Coconut in a room with five people, and tell me how many start singing. Even without singing, people are very receptive. There is something about remixes, no one can be indifferent. Oh, and it brings up all sorts of philosophical questions... well, we won't get into that, but for example: can the copy be better than the original?
