If to be an interpreter is to be able to infiltrate someone's else character, to play the vibration, simulate the feeling, then the ten actors of Ook are definitely no interpreters. But if you expect an interpreter to take the audience on board, bring it to other emotions, make-pretend for one night and use the stage to conjure the World's terror, then those ten beings, all of whom are mentally handicapped, are great interpreters. Founded in 1987, Theater Stap is a permanent group of actors, that invites artists to create professionnal shows. With Ook, this group, more accustomed to theatrical productions, goes a step further by experimenting dance, thanks for the careful guidance of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Nienke Reehorst.
